Necrolestes patagonensis which means grave robber has been so termed by paleontologists because they survived the holocaust which was responsible for the death of dinosaurs.  This fossil form of these grave robbers was initially discovered in America Patagonia in 1891 and Paleontologists were curious about the way their features all seemed to be mismatched. The compact body, turned snout and legs that were short and wide puzzled the researchers. The subterranean lifestyle could be the reason for its Lazarus effect claim scientists. They originally were thought to have perished with the dinosaurs. Studies of the fossils show that these Necrolestes patagonesis or grave robber fossils existed much longer than the dinosaurs.
